Change

On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, I was having a good day.  That morning in I got moved upstairs to my new office.  That afternoon I had a program with the children at the library.  The children really seemed to be having a good time.  About 4 o'clock I was going to take 2 children home.  My child and the babysitters little brother.  They wanted a drink before I took them, so I stopped at the Exxon on the highway to get them one.  I was sitting at the stop sign after having gotten the drinks.  I wasn't pulled up to far and I had just had my brakes repaired that weekend.  There was a car coming down the highway and it looked it was headed straight toward me.  I thought surely the person is fixing to slow down and turn, but he kept a coming.  I thought about putting car in reverse and about that time the driver saw me and tried to swerve to miss me and I didn't have time to try to back up.  He hit me in the front instead of the door.  This caused my suv to push out into the road make a U-turn and land in the ditch.  My motor was still running, but from the angle of the vehicle I knew I could not back out.  My next thought was to the kids.  The little boy (my friends child) jumped out and took off running.  He jumped the ditch and sat down on the bank. My child was still in the car.  She was whining.  I was trying to get her out of the car and people started yelling at me.  They said for me to lay down because I was bleeding.  I laid down, but was still reaching for my child.  I got my child and pulled her to me.  People looked at me and didn't know where the blood was coming from.  I told them my head hurt a little in one spot.  They found the cut spot and was holding pressure on it.  They found a knot on my child's head.  They put my child and myself in an ambulance to transport to the hospital.  We are all eventually going to be okay, but in a split second your day can go from good to bad.
We are the victims and we still have to suffer the consequences of someone else's actions.  This person had no insurance and was driving on a suspended driver's license.  The little boys eyeglasses got bent in the accident and he is now scared to get into a vehicle.  My child and I are still having headaches.  My insurance are saying they have to have an accident report.  I faxed it to them, but they are taking there own sweet time about getting it processed.  It took a week to get what I did because police didn't have other guys vend number and still don't.  If that's not all the police put there was no injuries in the accident.  I'd like to know what they call 4 staples to the head.   My car is totaled.  Thank God we were not hurt any worse.
The guy driving the other car went to jail that night, but he bonded out the same night.  Where is the justice?

Now my insurance company seems to be bokking or taking their own sweet time to do anything.  They said they sending the guy that hit me a letter and he has 10 days to reply as to rather or not he had insurance.  How can you have insurance if your driving on a revoked or suspended driver's license.  That's just crazy. Anyway in the mean time I am out of a vehicle to drive.  I drove my husband's truck the first week and it started messing up on me, which I knew was a possibility. I told insurance company and they said to rent one,  so I have a rental car for this week.  However, the rental fee had to come out of my pocket to start with.

This all happened right before I began a new adventure.  The new adventure was to leave family for a week to go to the PLMI classes that was taking place almost 300 miles away from home.  I've never driven that far.  I've been that far away and even farther, but not by myself and not driving either.  This accident caused me to not have a familiar vehicle to go to the classes in.  I had to borrow a car from the city to go.
